About Nafsika Polemis
Nafsika Polemis is a multimedia journalist and documentary filmmaker grounded in a UCL Creative Arts and Humanities BA. Drawing from her Greek, Polish, and Lebanese heritage, her work explores themes of place, culture and overlooked perspectives through documentary filmmaking, video journalism, and archival research. From her first documentary on the Elgin Marbles and diasporic identity to her dissertation film Η Αναμονή / The Wait on Andrian maritime community, her projects centre underrepresented histories, latching onto emotion through oral testimonies, archival material, and poetic documentary storytelling.
She has experience across journalism, presenting, documentary production, and multimedia storytelling. Her work includes an informative short film production with Orange UK, article writing for Kathimerini / The New York Times English Edition, researching and presenting news content for UCL Pi Media. Her visual style incorporates interviews, archival material, observational filmmaking, and poetic imagery to transform intimate personal stories and microhistories into reflections of wider social and cultural narratives.
